Know Your Purpose. Many new webmasters have strangely high expectations of what people will think about their site. They have a sense of being the center of the universe; that everyone is conscious about their site - all the time. This couldn't be further from the truth.
People who surf the web, that you are likely to get from search engines, referrals, et cetera, are looking for something - information or entertainment. They are not there just for the sake of being there. Read, Read Read - Read the FAQ's, read reviews of that program on google, read about the content they're providing. Find out how much you have to sell before you get a check.
Choose Wisely - If your website is called collegecoedshomealone.com, then you certainly wouldn't want to be part of an affiliate program that caters to overweight nuns. Use common sense and choose a program that is within your niche.
Demand - If you don't think that anyone would want to click a link or see the content that an affiliate offers, then odds are, neither will anyone else. Check to see if there is a lot of demand for content that you are thinking of promoting. Do some research online to see if others are finding success, or failure, with it.
Payday - Find out when you will get paid, how the payment happens. The most common methods of payment are bank transfer, paypal, and company check.
Credibility - Research online to find out if there are any complaints about the company you're looking to market for. Make sure you're not getting involved in a scam. Odds are, if you can't find a single thing online about them that is positive, that it could be a bad idea to join up with them.
Locate an affiliate program by payout type: Pay per signup (flat fee per join), Recurring or RevShare programs (partnership or sponsor programs where you earn a percentage of each sale including monthly recurring), and pay per click. You can also earn commission on adult products by setting up a cobranded adult store and adding it to your site as a feature or by simply sending traffic to selected products or categories through text links or banners. When calling the user to action, use brief but meaningful link text that:
provides some information when read out of context
explains what the link offers
doesn't talk about mechanics
is not a verb phrase

Keep the size of your pages small. No one wants to wait 5 minutes for a page to load. Don't put all your banners collection on a single page. Try to keep the load time within 20 seconds for your page.

Once your site is complete, choose a NICHE of keywords related to your sites content and try to optimize the front pages of your site for those words. By creating up to 30 'doorways' for your adult site that all look somewhat different, with different keyword content, you create more 'virtual real estate' and means of people finding your site with the legal disclaimer. Certain rules to follow when submitting to major search engines are:
1) No more than 2 pages per domain per day (One with www, one without);
2) No more than 30 doorway pages per domain name;
3) If you use sub domains for promotion, make sure they are individually assigned to a different IP address;
4) Try to make each doorway page look somewhat different than the others. Search engines use different algorithms for ranking pages and what works today may not work next month. By creating a variety of pages and keyword densities, you increase your odds of ranking high somewhere all the time;
5) NEVER AUTO SUBMIT to the major search engines (Excite, Google, MSN, Hotbot, Lycos, Fast, Northern Light, Altavista, etc.) When you automatically submit your URLs from a web page or software, your submission is oftentimes routed through a server IP. When 200,000 submissions come from one IP, the engine tends to ignore it. Taking the extra time to do it manually results in better odds of getting indexed and less SPAM email.
Next, you should begin submitting your site to adult search engines and link directories. AdultChamber.com has a huge list of adult search engines and direct links to the submit URL pages. This resource can save you time searching for sites to submit to and often will result in getting traffic to your site almost immediately. Create a links page or area to trade links; this is your biggest ally. Choosing The Right Keywords for your Adult Web Site.
Today on the internet, keyword marketing is more important than ever. With the right keywords on your adult web site you can get a lot more traffic from the search engines. Using these keywords in your meta-tags, and text on your site will place you higher on the search engine rankings, and get you more traffic to your adult web site.
Here are a few simple ways to find the right keywords for your web site:
1) Go to www.google.com and type in the phrase that best describes your adult web site. If you operate a big boob site than type in big boobs in the query box, this will pull up all the big boob sites that Google is currently indexing in the big boob category of their mature content directory.
2) Go to the top 3 sites and click through to the site. Right click your mouse on the page, then select 'View Source' and click it to open the source code. If the site has disabled this feature for some reason then go to the top on the page to the tool bar and select 'View' and then select 'Source' and you will get the same result.
3) On the source page take a look at the line 'meta name='keywords' content=', these are all the keywords that this site is using. Then cut all these keywords and paste them onto another document so that we can use them in Step 4 below. Do this for the other 2 sites as well. Pay attention to '' tag.
4) You should now have a document with all the keywords from the top three adult sites for the keyword phrase big boobs on a new document, get rid of all the duplicates now. Now lets go to Overture and see what all the related keywords are for each of them, click here to go to the Overture Search Engine Suggestion tool.
5) Now type all the keywords into the tool and grab the top 3 searches for each keyword and put them onto a new document. Once you have done this, then put the words together into sentences that are keyword rich. For example the returns from Overture for the keyword 'boob' are, boob, big boob, and huge boob. So a great keyword rich sentence and page title could be, 'Check out the huge boobs on Audra Mitchell, watch her play with her big boobs in our free picture section.' Now remember that is just one word, you have tons of words on your document to use and make better sentences.
Use these words to make keyword rich content for your sites and also for the meta-tags. Now this is just a taste of what you can do with keywords.
